Training & Placement Cell

Training and Placement Cell is a core area in any Technical Institute which complements the efforts of the faculty members by organizing value-added programmes and providing placement opportunities to students. The cell continuously coordinates with the various industries and organizations for placement of the students. It liaises with the corporate sectors and helps in developing the industry-academic interrelationship. The Cell organizes certain orientation programmes, grooming sessions, mock interviews for students of each stream. Besides, the Cell also organizes various summer internship programmes for students to provide them with hands-on experience and introducing them to match the professional environment.
Keeping in view the requirements of the industry, the Cell also takes initiative to arrange regular interactive workshops, seminars and short-term courses with active participation of academia and industry. It also takes initiative to develop the soft skills (Aptitude, HR, GD, PI etc) within students to make them feel comfortable in interviews and thus make them employable. The Cell ensures that Career Development Programmes are also conducted on a regular basis for value addition in the lives of our students. It also organizes industry-oriented special summer / winter courses in collaboration with reputed corporate industries.
Since the inception of this Polytechnic, we’ve been striving to excel in the field of academic as well as training & placement. The institute organizes various programmes to enhance the skills of students which includes special coaching by in-house faculties & externals as well. The prime duty of Training & Placement Cell is to arrange training/internship for the students in relevant industries. Industry-Institute Interaction is also organized where several industry experts interact with the students, faculty and staff through lectures, seminars and workshops and exchange their views about the various developments and requirements of the industries.
Training and Placement Cell in the IMPS PTC plays a vital role and is becoming a key department of the institute. The challenges for employment are increasing every day A full fledged placement cell is functioning in our college with a full time placement officer. Our Training and Placement Cell perfors the following activities:- Arrangement of plant training for students & Invite various organizations for campus recruitment.
For placement a large number of prospective employers are contacted during the academic session and efforts are made to invite those companies to visit our college and to conduct campus recruitments. The employment is not always done by on-campus. Off campus is also conducted at various convenient places outside the Institute as per employer’s requirement. In those cases full care is taken for the students to appear distant places. To get a job, for most organization students have to undergo general knowledge & aptitude test in writing, group discussion and personal interviews where along with technicalities, leadership quality and spoken & written English ability is judged. Accordingly we take care to develop the student as per industrial requirements.

Grooming of Students :

The Grooming part is pledged to this Institution for producing the Global level competent and skillful sources with innovative thoughts to face the challenging future by maintaining Indian values, from beginning to end for handling the professional perspectives by giving them an environment in their study period to make them feel their actual contribution in Career Building as well as for the growth of the Nation Building. Besides more, its object is :

• To bridge the gap between the needs of the Industry and Skills of the Students.
• To develop confidence in the students through curricular, co- curricular and extra-curricular activities.
• To conduct seminars, workshops and guest lecture to keep the students active throughout the course.
• To promote career counseling by senior corporate personnel & professional Motivators.
• To provide requisite training in the area of Personality Development and Communication Skills.
• To equip with competence among the students through internship and pre-placement training.
• To collaborate with industry for Live Projects, Research work, Workshop or any Academic Alliance, Industrial visits with many Industrial Organizations of repute.

Grooming begins right from the day a student joins the Institute in first year. To develop communication skill, we’ve a modern language laboratory for this purpose. Writing skill in English is also taken care at this time. This is continued in second year too. In 3rd year, special classes are conducted to develop aptitude and various standard written tests are conducted for their practice and awareness. Group discussions are also arranged in this period. Meanwhile students reach 3rd year, they are being groomed so systematically that they are ready to cross the most difficult hurdle successfully. Mock interviews are also arranged in 4th year with the help of experts.
Few students aspire for higher education for which one has to sit for another entrance examination called JELET. For preparing student for this examination we coach the students of third and forth students of all streams separately beyond class hours. Personality Development Skill.

Students will be provided Personality Development Skill (PDS) Programs with :

• Computer Learning & Development of Reasoning Abilities
• Development of Communicative approach in English
• Mock Interviews & Scope of Extra Curricular Activities
• Special remdial & compulsory Tutorial classes including PDS from 6 P.M to 10 P.M (Compulsory for Hostelers & optional for Day scholars)
